Airways Aviation appoints new general manager, Australia

Steward Ford, who has acted as interim general manager since May, has worked for the global aviation education and training provider since 2014. Joining first as national operations manager, Ford developed cadet pathways into commercial flying careers and was quickly promoted to global technical officer, charged with evolving and growing Airways Aviation in Asia-Pacific.

BRISBANE – Airways Aviation has appointed former global technical officer Stewart Ford as general manager, Australia, to lead its ongoing Australian and Asia-Pacific expansion.
 
Ford, who has acted as interim general manager since May, has worked for the global aviation education and training provider since 2014. Joining first as national operations manager, Ford developed cadet pathways into commercial flying careers and was quickly promoted to global technical officer, charged with evolving and growing Airways Aviation in Asia-Pacific.
 
Ian Cooper, CEO, Airways Aviation says: “Stewart has been instrumental in developing our first-class training solutions in Australia, including establishing our impressive Airline Training Centre in Brisbane, where he project managed the installation of a new MPS 737-800 simulator.”
 
“Stewart brings with him more than 20 years’ experience to the role. Not only has he founded and managed four successful businesses, he is a passionate aviator with a strong leadership history, having held positions including training operations director, head of training and general and territory manager. We’re thrilled to have him heading the business in Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific.”
 
Business outlook is strong in Asia-Pacific, with July seeing the first intake of students commencing the Airways Aviation CASA Commercial Pilot Licence with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, in collaboration with Southern Cross University (SCU). Airways Aviation is also making significant headway into Asia-based cabin crew training and is continuing to grow its portfolio of foundation schools across the region.
