Inaugural FOOD and HOTELEX 2015 opened in Phuket

PHUKET, Thailand – Leading trade fair and event organizer, Expolink Global Network Ltd., hosted FOOD and HOTELEX 2015 in Phuket for the first time at Royal Phuket Marina from 19 – 22 November. With strong support from the Government and Private sector, representatives from Phuket Province, Phuket City, the Phuket Chamber of Commerce, Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), the National Food Institute (NFI), Thailand Chefs Association and the Institute of Vocational Education Southern Region 2 came together with organizers Expolink Global Network at the Opening Ceremony to officially open the inaugural event.

    

Mr. Phusit Sasitaranondha, Managing Director of Expolink Global Network Ltd, organisers of FOOD and HOTELEX 2015, commented that “With such strong support, we’re very proud to organise this event in Phuket. FOOD and HOTELEX will showcase Phuket’s hospitality and food industry with the aim to support Phuket to become a hub of the hospitality and food industry in the region. FOOD and HOTELEX is created under the concept “Your world class destination for Food and Hospitality industry” and will help to distribute goods from the region around the world through business and connections made at the Show. We expect more than 3,000 visitors and to generate THB120 million in business for the industry.”
 

More than 50 leading companies from Thailand’s hospitality and food industry were exhibiting at FOOD and HOTELEX which took place 19 – 22 November at the Exhibition Hall at Royal Phuket Marina.
 

Highlights of the show included:
 

A networking event where local businesses met with leading suppliers to develop new business opportunities. 
 

To promote and recognize the skills and professionalism of young chefs in Thailand, this multi-category competition welcomed more than 100 chefs competing.
