IHG Singapore corporate office engages in fun-filled activities to raise funds for IHG Shelter in a Storm

SINGAPORE – Colleagues across InterContinental Hotels Group‘s (IHG) corporate office and hotels in Singapore joined colleagues from all over the world to take part in IHG Race Around the World, an annual event that aims to raise awareness and funds for the global hotel company’s disaster relief programme, IHG Shelter in a Storm.
 

IHG makes a donation for each act of participation in Race Around the World activities. Over the week, IHG colleagues in Singapore got together to support the cause by participating in various activities including a local-breakfast sale; the screening of a documentary on Nepal’s recovery from the recent earthquake; a five-kilometre walk to Gardens by the Bay; and a rigorous climb up 13 flights of stairs to the corporate office. Colleagues from other IHG corporate offices and hotels in the region also pitched in to pledge their support. In Indonesia, Crowne Plaza Semarang gathered a 60-strong team to clean up the famous Indonesian heritage site Lawang Sewu. In Thailand, colleagues from the office in Bangkok donated a minimal sum every day to dress down for the week.

 

In the Philippines, colleagues participated in mass Zumba classes, an amazing race and a Personality Development Seminar, amongst others.

Our pledge and activities were not only great fun; it also motivated and engaged our colleagues and raised money for a fantastic cause.”
 

IHG has 56 hotels operating across five brands in Southeast Asia, including: InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Hotel Indigo. The company has 58 hotels in its development pipeline.
