TAT plans road show to draw visitors from Jordan and Egypt

The roadshow showcases a wide variety of tourism products and services in major tourist destinations in Thailand, including Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Hua Hin.

BANGKOK – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is organising an Amazing Thailand Road Show to Jordan and Egypt from 24 to 26 November, bringing a delegation of eight selected Thai tourism product and service providers to discuss business with potential partners in the two markets.
 
Mrs. Juthaporn Rerngronasa Deputy Governor for International Marketing (Europe, Africa, Middle East and the Americas) of TAT said, “Both Jordan and Egypt are considered new sources of lucrative tourist markets for Thailand. This road show is to build on the presence of Thailand as a destination for world-class holiday options, especially for honeymooners looking to spend quality time in top-notch pool villa accommodation while immerse in distinctive Thai culture and enjoy a wide range of travel experiences, ranging from spa treatment sessions to shopping opportunities.
 
Representatives from A-ONE Hotel, Centara Hotels & Resorts, Discovery Holidays, Duangjitt Resort & Spa, Egythai Tours & Travel, Minor Group, Red Apple Travel Co., Ltd., Sea Sun Sand Resort & Spa will have the chance to meet and discuss business face-to-face with tour operators and travel companies in Jordan and Egypt in a table top sales format.
 
The road show took place in Amman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on 24 November and also will take place in Cairo, Egypt on 26 November. It will showcase a wide variety of tourism products and services in major tourist destinations in Thailand, including Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Hua Hin.
 
TAT will also introduce the new ‘2015 Discover Thainess’ campaign, which builds on the essence of ‘Thainess’ through the Thai way of life, Thai culture and Thai experiences.
 
Mrs. Juthaporn said, “Through this campaign, both first-time and repeat travellers to Thailand can always find something new to learn, touch and experience – a perfect timing to build on the presence of Thailand in new markets; such as, Jordan and Egypt. The “Thainess” lifestyle is reflected in all our indigenously-designed and made products and services.
 
From January to December 2013, Thailand welcomed a total of 681,173 travellers from the Middle East. Of the total, Egypt contributed some 26,650 visitors while Jordan generated 12,146.
 
In addition, January to June, 2014, a total of 247,526 travellers from the Middle East came to visit Thailand.  12,386 are visitors from Egypt, and 6,382 are travellers from Jordan.
