PCB membership new structure

Currently PCB has a large range of membership levels but has looked to streamline this to provide a more manageable model.

In December 2013 the Perth Convention Bureau (PCB) consulted with a sample of its members, as selected by independent consultants, Metrix Consulting, to gauge their opinion on the value of PCB membership. Face to face and telephone interviews were conducted with a cross section of the membership.

Using the findings from the consultative interviews with members, PCB will introduce a simplified structure along with new initiatives in the new financial year.

In addition to this research, there was consultation with PCB’s Board as part of the annual strategic planning process and the simplified structure and new initiatives were ratified.

PCB aims to increase communication and ROI to its members, provide more flexibility to choose the benefits that are important and provide a greater understanding of the membership tools and how to use them. In addition we will work cooperatively with members to promote the destination whilst promoting a ‘whole of destination’ approach to marketing which is inclusive – not exclusive.

We see our members as the vital key in marketing Western Australia to conference and corporate clients” said PCB’s CEO Paul Beeson. “They are partners who deliver a joint effort in securing business for our State and therefore we are promoting a ‘Partnership’ rather than ‘Membership’ model”, Paul added.

The streamlined structure and new initiatives will be rolled out in the new financial year. Members will be notified in May of the levels available when they are invited to renew their partnership with PCB.

The Bureau has over 200 members in Western Australia and we value their contribution” said Director of Stakeholder Relations, Ms Tracey Cinavas-Prosser. “Our mission and promise to every one of them is to try and secure the highest return on their investment whilst working together to achieve a common goal – more secured events for WA”.
