Amadeus to build unified digital platform to support non-IATA agencies in achieving end-to-end workflow.
Amadeus has signed with the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (NATAS) to become the official technology partner to build a new digital travel platform for its non-IATA travel agencies.
The new platform will be designed to help Singapore-based agents drive operational efficiency with the ability to access both air and non-air content from a single interface. Backed by Amadeus technology, the platform will offer non-IATA agencies access to travel content in real time with a seamless end-to-end workflow. This increases the agencies’ retailing capabilities to help clients create hassle-free travel arrangements.
This project is co-funded by the Singapore Tourism Board through the Local Enterprise and Association Development (LEAD) Programme, which supports efforts by trade associations to drive industry initiatives.
Steven Ler, President, the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore, said, “The partnership with Amadeus will be a milestone for all travel agencies – NATAS and non-NATAS members, offering them access to the latest travel technology to smoothen out operations throughout the front-, mid- and back-offices. Our agents can access a wide range of content, including hotels and attractions, all in one platform, greatly enhancing efficiency and professionalism.”
The digital platform will provide a standardized framework for invoicing, accounting, recording and reporting financial and business information. It will also act as a reliable source of information on Safe Travel Measures and Guidelines for overseas travel agents, visitors and travelers.
Javier Laforgue, Executive Vice President, Travel Unit & Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Amadeus said, “Amadeus is delighted to sign this new partnership with NATAS. The solutions included in the partnership will empower NATAS members to deliver exceptional customer experiences, streamline operations and stay ahead of the competition.”
With nearly 300 members, NATAS represents the Singapore travel agency community. Acting as the voice of the industry, the organization strives to ensure the sustained development of agencies, while spearheading education and training.
