Jetstar Asia sees a surge in 2023, with increased flights, new destinations, affordable fares, and a strong focus on leisure travel.
As 2023 draws to a close, Jetstar Asia has revealed a list of notable statistics and achievements that has shaped the airline’s year as low-fares air travel continues to drive demand across the region.
In a year that has seen travellers return to the skies, the low-cost carrier has continued to ramp up its operations, increasing its fleet, welcoming new team members on board, and expanding its network to meet the evolving demands of its customers.
Leisure travel was a key driver in demand as travellers prioritise experiences, with Jetstar Asia responding by adding more captivating holiday destinations. Strong demand saw the return of popular destinations in Japan and China and prompted an increase in the number of weekly flights to popular hubs like Bangkok, Bali, and Phuket.
With the introduction of Okinawa, and Wuxi, Jetstar Asia became the only airline to operate these direct routes, while also relaunching services to Haikou and Osaka, via Manila, to their expanding network.
Jetstar Asia’s ongoing commitment to making air travel more affordable saw over two-thirds of customers purchase international fares for under S$100.
This year’s most popular routes were from Singapore to key metropolitan cities Manila and Bangkok, as business travel ramped up and family and friends took the opportunity to reconnect.
Across the year, cabin crew served over 300,000 meals, snacks, and drinks – with water emerging as the best-selling beverage, while Pringles Original Potato Chips claimed the top spot as the most favoured snack onboard.
With Jetstar Asia’s website attracting over 6.7 million visits during the year, a frequency of one visit every 2.65 seconds, there’s no doubt that interest in travel is back.
