Cultural Discovery and Inheritance – Embark the Extraordinary Journey of Cultural Experiences

In addition to multicultural exhibits, different countries have also prepared their characteristic cultural performance, such as South African Music Performance, Unique Musical Instruments of Kazakhstan, Philippines Fashion Show, Hungarian Folk Dance Performance, etc, which exhibit the passion of the different countries’ cultures.

HONG KONG – To stimulate cultural exchange between Chinese & western cultures, “International Culture, Tourism & Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition” is going to be held during June 30 – July 2, 2023 at Hall 3 & 6 of Hong Kong AsiaWorld-Expo.

The fascinating highlights

The exhibition assembles unique cultures of numerous countries, including China, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Russia, South Africa, Zimbabwe and so on. Not only will the visitors be able to learn more about the tourist attractions of various countries, but also experience magnificent local cultures. Get ready for a cultural feast!

“Wellness” and “Cultural Tourism” are the hottest topics for modern world. A special zone for Chinese natural resources and cultural heritages will be set up. Abundant natural resources and traditional intangible cultural heritage from 30 provinces and cities in China will be showcased, namely Sanmenxia (Henan), Yichun (Helongjiang), Shangluo (Shaanxi), Xinyang (Henan), Jiaocheng (Shanxi), Dehua (Fujian) and Xunyi (Shaanxi). It is time to plan for a brand new route and journey which participants could immerse themselves in stunning sceneries and complete mind relaxation.

To break the stereotype of “old” cultural heritage, application of technologies will definitely bring the new impetus and essential vitality to heritage. There will be a display of how innovative 3D laser scanning and 3D printing technology could be applied in heritage conservation. Participants could also enjoy a 360-degree interactive virtual tour of representational local Chinese temples. It will be the best opportunity to arouse greater interests of the next generation towards Chinese traditional culture.

Different unique intangible cultural heritage will also be displayed during the 3-day exhibition, including traditional paper cutting techniques, Chinese long history of calligraphy art, “random stitching” embroidery with perfect blend of oil painting techniques, ink and calligraphy, Cloisonne (Chinese art & crafts originated from royal family), Chinese opera masks, the first & ever rice paper embroidery and so on. Such an invaluable platform will enable the public to have a clearer understanding of the uniqueness of Chinese traditional culture.

In order to help cultivate students’ positive value and create a better environment for learning of traditional culture, calligraphy and speech competition on Dizi Gui (Guidelines for Children) will be held simultaneously with the exhibition.

All visitors are more than welcome to register for free workshops on Chinese intangible cultural heritage, including but not limited to, Alcohol Ink Painting, Corn Husk Dolls (imitating the flying poses of Dunhuang Murals), Oil Painting, Hard-pen Calligraphy and so on.

To relate the importance of upcycling and inheritance for the sustainable future, “Greater Bay Area ESG & Sustainability Exhibition” will be held on the same exhibition fairground for the showcase of potential ESG projects. Culture is one of the best media to connect to the community. Through such exhibition project, the significance of circular economy will be highlighted while the irreplaceable bonding between inheritance and sustainability will also be emphasized to all attendees.
