Hotelzon launches global conference room inventory

Hotelzon is to launch a live online booking tool for meeting rooms. One aspect of the booking tool will be to provide virtual meeting facilities, enabling the booker to ensure technological compatibility when booking multiple venues globally.

With rapid growth in demand for consolidated conference business, succinct management reporting and consolidation of costs is essential for bookers. To date, most conference room bookings have been made manually, as there has not been an appropriate online booking system available across the scope of inventory that Hotelzon can access for conference room bookings online.

The Hotelzon online booking system will attract both corporate clients who simply want to book a meeting room online and agents who can use it as a venue finding tool. Both will benefit from a global conference room inventory including virtual conference rooms. Conversely, venues such as hotels and conference centres can implement this as another channel to attract meetings business. An adapted version of the booking engine can be set up to provide a portal conference booking tool for their website.

Meeting rooms can be searched using various criteria and advanced search options include seating styles, postal code and duration of meeting. Search results provide a list of available venues as well as images with descriptions, details of capacity and video conferencing facilities. Search results can offer both perfect and partial matches.

Hotelzon is already working with venue providers of major meetings to enable content upload and to develop the distribution channel, and the online conference booking tool will be released to Hotelzon customers in April 2010.

Jani Kaskinen, Hotelzon CEO said, “Due to a lack of global conference booking tools and increasing demand from customers, Hotelzon devised this initiative and commenced development last year. Utilising our extensive hotel inventory and booking technology, we are working in a new arena that complements our hotel offering.”
