Hamilton Island, gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, has appointed The Sandra Leach Company to provide travel trade representation in the UK and European markets. Perfectly situated amongst the 74 Whitsunday Islands, Hamilton Island offers Australia’s most diverse island-holiday experience – glorious weather, azure waters, sandy beaches, awe-inspiring coral reefs, fascinating flora and fauna, fine food and wine, and an impressive selection of activities.
The Oatley Family, Hamilton Island’s owners, have invested heavily in the island with the recent extensive refurbishment of the 4 star Reef View Hotel, development of a state-of-the- art yacht club and also the much anticipated opening of Hamilton Island’s own 18-hole championship golf course, due to open mid 2009.
Commenting on the appointment, Hamilton Island’s International Sales Manager, Tori Smyth said: “2009 is set to be an exciting year for Hamilton Island, with significant, ongoing investment on the island and new developments. Coupled with our strong commitment to the UK and European markets, we understand the importance of having a UK-based team. The Sandra Leach Company has an outstanding reputation with proven results and we’re delighted to have secured their services”.
Hamilton Island is also home to luxurious qualia, one of Australia’s newest luxury resorts, set on the secluded and breathtakingly beautiful northern-most point of Hamilton Island. qualia has 59 elegant one-bedroom pavilions and the Beach House at qualia, each set amongst eucalyptus trees with postcard views of the idyllic blue-green waters of the Whitsundays. Two superb restaurants and Spa qualia cater exclusively to their guests.
Another forthcoming highlight will be Corroboree Europe 2009, when Hamilton Island will play host to over 300 UK and European agents. The event is an important part of the Australian Specialist Programme and gives agents firsthand experience and necessary skills to sell Australia. Hamilton Island will provide participants with a beautiful back drop, whilst attending workshops, interacting with sellers and enjoying their famil experience.
