Worldhotels has become the first group of independent hotels to enter into a Preferred Partnership with American Express Travel Services in the Asia/Pacific region. Under the partnership, Worldhotels gives best rate guarantees to American Express Travel Services in exchange for special privileges such as marketing initiatives, priority highlighting in the GDS, and opportunities for sales presentations, educationals and travel consultant incentive schemes which are only available to preferred partners.

American Express Travel Services is by far the world`s largest corporate travel manager, so we are delighted with this partnership which will give us a huge reach to the many corporate clients that American Express Travel serves in the region said Roland Jegge, Vice President Asia/ Pacific for Worldhotels.

American Express Travel Services serves nearly 50% of the Fortune 500 companies, as well as many smaller corporate clients, and is the number one corporate travel agency in many Asia/Pacific markets including Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, India, Singapore and Malaysia.

One area where we expect Worldhotels to benefit greatly through the partnership is by gaining access to corporate clients of American Express Travel who do not have a managed travel policy that ties them to a particular hotel chain or group, said Roland Jegge.

Worldhotels already enjoys Preferred Partnership with American Express Travel Services in Europe and America, but this is the first time the partnership has been extended to the Japan, Australia and Asia Pacific region.

This region covers several of the world`s top five travel markets, China, India and Japan, as well as two important regional travel headquarters, Hong Kong and Singapore, said Roland Jegge. So it is an especially significant one for us.
