Somak have abandoned charter flights to Goa after ten years, in a bid to increase flexibility and comfort for passengers. For the winter season 09/10 Somak offer a choice of four scheduled carriers that fly via hubs in the UAE or India. Customers can now fly on any day of the week, and stay for any duration.
A new brochure, dedicated to Goa, offers a choice of nine resort hotels and shows prices with British Airways and Jet Airways. When booking online, Qatar Airways and Kingfisher Airlines are also offered.
The brochure also includes two of the most popular tours, The Golden Triangle and In Search of the Tiger, and two holidays options in Kerala.
CEO Ash Sofat comments, “All of our programmes now operate using scheduled carriers only. This gives our clients the comfort and quality they want, and means far more flexibility. And in fact flying into Goa on a scheduled flight is less expensive than on a charter flight. Big savings on charters only occur when operators are forced to discount to fill seats.”
The Taj Group of hotels is well represented in the brochure with the Taj Exotica in Benaulim Beach just one example of the great value for money that Goa offers. Prices start at just £995 for a week at the Taj Exotica including return scheduled flights, transfers and bed and breakfast. There is a choice of five restaurants and a fantastic array of things to do. It is located in acres of tropical gardens by the sea. This hotel also offers one free night when you book six, free cake for repeat guests and honeymooners and all guests can enjoy one free yoga session every day.
A new addition to the brochure is The Leela Kempinski in Kovalam, Kerala. It is built on a rock-face and cradled between two wide sweeping beaches. A 5 star deluxe resort, with an array of superlative restaurants and lounges, it also specializes in traditional Ayurveda treatment. What is more, two stunning infinity pools overlook the Arabian Sea. A seven night stay costs £1125 departing in March 2010 and includes return scheduled flights, transfers and breakfast. It has been added because its sister hotel, The Leela Kempinski in Goa has proved to be a top seller with Somak Holidays.
