Accor’s largest-ever expansion of the Sofitel brand in China racked up another achievement, officially opening two hotels in Nanjing, Sofitel Galaxy Nanjing and Sofitel Zhongshan Golf & Resort – on the same day. This milestone marks the first time anywhere in the world that Accor has launched two Sofitel hotels on the same day in the same city.
Three more Sofitels are scheduled to open in China before the end of 2006, giving Accor 20 Sofitel hotel, making it the country’s largest and most recognisable luxury hotel brand.
Over the next two years, Sofitel will increase from the current 49 hotels in Asia Pacific to nearly 70 hotels in 12 countries. It will establish the Sofitel brand as the largest 5-star hotel brand in the region. It will also increase the global network of Sofitel hotels to over 200.
