Small Luxury Hotels of the World reports that it is business as usual in Bangkok and throughout the Kingdom of Thailand despite the recent political activities. After communicating with each of the 20 SLH properties in Thailand, it has been reported that all facilities and services are fully operational and travelers should feel safe and confident to continue travel as originally planned.

Jonathon Wigley, Group General Manager for SLH`s Anantara Resorts and Spa who is based in Bangkok said: The situation is totally calm, peaceful and orderly as this political process has been going on for 6 months. As the democratic process continues to evolve, the focus of both the public and private sectors is to ensure a safe and stable environment for nationals and visitors to Thailand.

Joy Menzies, Managing Director of SLH`s Chiva-Som property in Hua Hin said: It should be noted that there has been no confrontation or disruption of infrastructure services or communication, and residents and visitors are free to travel. We are not aware of any risks to travellers at this time. The airport in Bangkok remains open and at this point there should be no inconveniences to guests transiting through Bangkok on their way to Chiva-Som in Hua Hin or anywhere else.

Most foreign ministries are advising their citizens to monitor the situation and exercise caution, but have not advised people to cancel their travel plans. That said, SLH is encouraging travellers to contact their State Department or Embassy prior to travelling for further details and information.
