New Moniker will strengthen relationships with Corporate Travel executives in Chinese speaking markets

The Association of Corporate Travel Executives proudly announced its Chinese name during the 11th annual ACTE Asia Education Conference.

HONG KONG – During the 11th annual ACTE Asia Education Conference on 15 August 2012 in Singapore, the Association of Corporate Travel Executives proudly announced its Chinese name. This announcement further cements ACTE’s dedication to its Chinese speaking markets, including mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.

“ACTE’s Chinese name reflects professionalism, linguistic subtleness and clear pronunciation in both Mandarin and Cantonese,” explained Peter Koh, ACTE Asia Regional Council Chair and Global Travel Manager of Standard Chartered Bank. “We are excited for this opportunity to advance communication and deepen our relationship with our Asian audience.”

The announcement of ACTE’s Chinese name was followed by the “Luminous Dragon Dance”, which demonstrated how important the Chinese name is for ACTE. This celebration was designed for several reasons:

  • The “Luminous Dragon Dance” is more innovative than the traditional “Dragon Dance”, and symbolizes the innovation and creativity of ACTE as an organization
  • 2012 is the “Year of the Dragon”
  • The “Dragon Dance” is more important than the “Lion Dance”.

The ACTE Asia Education Conference is an education and networking event focused on advancing the industry by identifying new and innovative approaches to managed travel. Next year’s conference will take place on 21-22 August 2013 at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
