Best Western heads to the beach

Best Western International announced its expanding to the beach with new resort hotel on the tropical Thai island of Phuket, one of the most popular areas in Thailand.

BANGKOK – Best Western International is expanding its beach resort portfolio with the launch of a new hotel on the tropical Thai island of Phuket. Located just a few minutes’ walk from the golden sands of Patong Beach – Phuket’s most popular tourist area – the new resort is sure to be a hit with the increasing number of leisure travelers and family groups to this exotic island.

This Patong project will join the midscale BEST WESTERN collection and become the chain’s fourth property in Phuket, cementing the company’s position as a leader in the island’s mid- to upscale market. It will also become the 18th addition to Best Western’s fast-expanding Thailand portfolio.

We are delighted to announce the opening of yet another Best Western property in Phuket, and our first in the buzzing beach resort of Patong,” said Glenn de Souza, Best Western International’s Vice President International Operations – Asia & the Middle East.

With its idyllic sandy beaches, turquoise seas and excellent facilities, Phuket has become one of Asia’s most popular and tourist-friendly resort destinations. And as the main hub for entertainment, dining, watersports and nightlife, Patong is at the heart of the island’s success. We are certain that all visitors to Phuket will love Best Western’s combination of comfort, convenience and excellent service,” Mr. de Souza added.

When it opens in 2014, the new Best Western hotel will offer 220 guestrooms, all including modern amenities such as flat screen televisions and complimentary internet access. Guests will also be able to relax and soak up the tropical sun at a rooftop swimming pool or dine at the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant.

Best Western already operates three hotels in Phuket – Best Western Phuket Ocean Resort, Best Western Allamanda Laguna Phuket and Best Western Premier Bangtao Beach Resort & Spa.

The new addition will mark the continuation of a major Thailand expansion strategy, which has already seen Best Western open four hotels this year, taking its total countrywide inventory to more than 1,600 rooms across 16 hotels.
