Accor Asia Pacific announced the following appointments at Accor hotels in Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines. Remko Kroesen is the new General Manager of Sofitel central Hua Hin Resort. Remko joined Accor from Crowne Princess Kuala Lumpur where he was General Manager since 2003. Previously, Remko held general manager positions with Federal Hotels and Stamford Hotels & Resorts in Australia and Malaysia as well as with other groups in New Zealand and The Netherlands.
Marek Przeorski has been named General Manager of the new Sofitel Phokeethra Krabi in Thailand. Marek is setting up the hotel’s pre-opening office and it is scheduled to open in October 2006. Marek re-joined Accor in Poland in 2002 as General Manager of the Sofitel Wroclaw and prior to that held senior positions with Accor, Hilton and Zenith Hotels in Europe and Asia.
Bernardo Godinez has been appointed General Manager of two properties, the soon to open Grand Sukhumvit by Sofitel and Grand Mercure Park Avenue in Bangkok. Bernardo re-joined Accor in 1999 as General Manager of the Hotel Ibis Tamarin in Jakarta, and later moved to become General Manager of Novotel Vientiane in Laos.
Simon Jinks has been promoted to General Manager, Novotel Chiang Mai. Simon joined Century International Hotels in 1997 and held senior operational positions with Century and Accor hotels in Vietnam and Hong Kong. Since 2002, Simon has been Resident Manager at Sofitel Silom Bangkok.
Bernd Schneider is the new General Manager of the recently announced Hotel Philippine Plaza in Manila. Bernd has been with Accor since 1992 originally in Germany. After relocating to Asia in 1994, Bernd held several general manager positions in Indonesia and China. Prior to this appointment Bernd was General Manager, Sofitel Central Hua Hin Resort in Thailand.
Michael Perdikaris has been named General Manager, Novotel Hydro Majestic Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Michael has established the hotel’s pre-opening office in Kuala Lumpur earlier this year in preparation for a scheduled opening in August 2006. Michael joined Accor in 1999 and was Resident Manager of Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square for over three years before relocating to Malaysia an assume the position of General Manager, Sofitel Palm Resort in Johor Bahru.
Aiman Zaki has been appointed General Manager of the Sofitel Palm Resort in Johor Bahru. Aiman has been with Accor since 1999 working in Jordan and Egypt and was most recently the General Manager of the Sofitel Le Sphinx Cairo.
