IMPACT pushes forward its business vision to put Thailand’s MICE on spotlight

Moving towards its business vision to rank among the top five venues in Asia, IMPACT has been focusing on its business synergy to support Thailand as the leading MICE destination in the region. The main focus is on the development of its operation, through high levels of services as well as its investment in state-of-art facilities to attract the international MICE market.

Thailand’s leading convention and exhibition venue, IMPACT, is strengthening its business development to serve the growth of MICE market especially international trade and exhibition events which are expected to be driven further by the single integrated Asean Economic Community (AEC).

Moving towards its business vision to rank among the top five venues in Asia, IMPACT has been focusing on its business synergy to support Thailand as the leading MICE destination in the region. The main focus is on the development of its operation, through high levels of services as well as its investment in state-of-art facilities to attract the international MICE market.

Mr. Loy Joon How, General Manager of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. said that, the AEC will provide opportunities for Thailand especially for overseas trade show and exhibition organizers which target CLMV market (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam) due to its strategic location as well as the logistics and supporting facilities.

“As Thailand’s major MICE player and venue provider, we commit ourselves to the ongoing improvement of our services and facilities to international standard. This assures local and international business partners that Thailand is capable to be the host country for major MICE events with IMPACT, as the leading venue partner. We can cater for the complete needs for functions which range from 100 or over 30,000 delegates,” he said.

Currently, the venue offers the largest exhibition space in the country, covering over 140,000 square meters of indoor space in four main buildings namely, IMPACT Challenger, IMPACT Exhibition Center, IMPACT Arena and IMPACT Forum. These facilities serve over 800 events a year including trade and consumer exhibitions and attract a total of 15 million visitors yearly.  Top events namely the 2012 Rotary International Convention; Thailand International Motor Expo; Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair; THAIFEX-World of Food Asia; Herbalife Extravaganza; Amway Expo; ITU Telecom Asia; are just a few of the major events attracted to Thailand

Mr. Loy added that, in terms of the facility development, the venue has recently invested US$27 million to add 30 new meeting rooms bringing a total numbers of breakout rooms to 52 across IMPACT. In addition, two new Banquet Halls have been added with an additional 5,710 square meters to serve for all kind of functions in addition to the 3,500 square meters Royal Jubilee Ballroom and a 2,000 square meters Grand Diamond Ballroom.

Within the next two years, additional facilities and support services to be completed include the construction of new hotel, Ibis, which will add 600 rooms to top up the existing 380 ultra-modern rooms at the Novotel Bangkok IMPACT; construction of new 2,000-seat Auditorium; renovation of IMPACT Arena with additional of retail shops; and renovation of the 8 multi-purposed halls at IMPACT Exhibition Center.

IMPACT is the country’s first MICE venue which was certified with international standard. It has successfully achieved ISO22000 for Food Safety Management System; ISO50001 for Energy Management System; and TIS22300 for MICE Security Management System. The achievement enhances IMPACT’s confidence and creates a trust with business partners.

After operating for over 13 years, the company recently refreshed its corporate brand image through its logo which projects a fresh look for IMPACT, providing the synergy of a modern, confident and progressive organization. The new logo also projects its brand attributes highlighting IMPACT as the Proficient Partner, Passionate Professional, Progressive Platform and Personalized Solution.

This year IMPACT projects its revenue atUS$67 million or a 10% growth from last year. The company aims to raise its international profile in order to tap the growth of international MICE which is anticipated to generate 792,000 arrivals or US$ 2.1 billion revenue to the country in 2013.
