Hilton Maldives offers tours to the first Marine National Park in the Maldives

Hilton Maldives Iru Fushi Resort & Spa has launched an a la carte excursion to Edu Faru, the first Marine National Park (MNP) in the Maldives.

The Edu Faru archipelago, comprising of nine uninhabited islands, lagoon and surrounding waters, form a single unified coral reef ecosystem. An area largely unspoilt and of outstanding natural beauty, Edu Faru showcases the Maldives’ biodiversity.

As part of the resort’s a la carte range of excursions and activities, guests can enjoy exclusive snorkelling and diving excursions to the coral reefs of Edu Faru. Hilton Maldives donates $10 to the MNP Foundation Fund for every resort guest to visit the area, in support of the project and continued preservation of the fragile coral reefs of the site.

The resort has designed a complete range of a la carte excursions, allowing guests to experience Maldivian culture and nature. Guests can try their hand at Maldivian fishing, meet the community on inhabited neighbouring islands, experience a dolphin watching excursion, or enjoy a Robinson Crusoe deserted island experience.

General Manager at Hilton Maldives Iru Fushi, Jean-Sebastien Kling said “We are pleased to offer our guests a comprehensive selection of a la carte activities. The marine national park is an exciting project for the Maldives and we are proud to be able to share this with visitors wishing to see the diversity of natural life and contribute to its protection”.

The MNP is a non-profit organisation that strives to protect, conserve and preserve the natural setting and rich biodiversity of the Edu Faru archipelago and surrounding waters with minimum intrusion for future generations. The MNP is managed in an inclusive participatory manner with close links, support and collaboration with the atoll community. The MNP promotes educational activities, sustainable tourism and the preservation of Maldivian cultural traditions.
