Former FORMULA 1 ™ Champion Damon Hill meets travellers at Changi Airport

Lucky passengers walked away with FORMULA 1™ souvenirs autographed by former F1 driver Damon Hill while others had the special opportunity to take photographs with the former champion. This was made possible as Hill made a special appearance at Changi Airport Terminal 1’s Departure/Transit Mall yesterday. Hill is in Singapore as a guest at the inaugural 2008 F1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix and to raise funds for the Down Syndrome Association.

The retired F1 champion won the F1 World Championship title in 1996 and 22 other races in his 8 years as a F1 driver. Hill retired from the sport at the end of 1999 season. Son of former double F1 World Champion Graham Hill, Damon Hill is the first son of a World Champion to win the title himself.

This rare opportunity to catch Damon Hill in-person was made possible by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and Changi Airport’s meet-and-greet sessions with famous personalities. Previous celebrity sessions featured Air Supply, Jay Chou, Backstreet Boys, Bollywood superstars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt, and top golfer Annika Sorenstam.
