Jet Airways organises blood donation camp for Delhi bomb blast victims

Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, organized a blood donation camp at Delhi Domestic Airport on Friday, September 19, 2008 in aid of the city’s blast victims. The camp was organized in association with the Rotary Blood Bank of Delhi.

Over a hundred of Jet Airways’ staff and management came forward and participated in this noble cause.

Commenting on the airline’s initiative, Jet Airways’ Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Wolfgang Prock-Schauer said, “As a responsible corporate entity, Jet Airways is conscious of showing its solidarity and support for the victims of the blasts. Given the urgent need for blood among the blast victims, we thought it was the need of the hour and hence organised this Blood Donation Camp”.

Jet Airways has been at the forefront of several such corporate social responsibility initiatives in the past, having participated in relief efforts during national calamities such as the Gujarat Earthquake in 2001, the destruction left across South and South East Asia in the aftermath of the tsunami in 2004, the earthquake in Jammu and Kashmir in 2005 and the relief efforts for the recent flood-hit state of Bihar.
