Cross Hotels & Resorts debuts Lumen Bangkok Udomsuk Station, blending local charm and modern comfort for a unique guest experience.

BANGKOK, THAILAND – Cross Hotels & Resorts announces the launch of its new destination-centric brand, LUMEN, a hybrid hotel that amplifies the character of its neighbourhood and celebrates the community. The opening of Lumen Bangkok Udomsuk Station marks a paradigm shift in guest enhancement for Cross Hotels & Resorts as the company expands its portfolio with a vision to redefine the hospitality experience.

At Lumen, the tagline “A Brighter Way to Stay” encapsulates the commitment to always create memorable stays for guests. Lumen Bangkok Udomsuk Station elevates every aspect of the guest experience with delightful surprises reminiscent of Bangkok’s historical charm, blending old-world allure with contemporary charisma.

Suburban Udomsuk remains unique with its neon-lit cafes and bars sitting cheek-by-jowl with traditional shophouses. The arrival of Lumen Bangkok Udomsuk Station offers guests the flexibility of a quaint locale stay with connectivity to a 21st-century mega-city. Millennial travellers, digital nomads, and entrepreneurs, seeking the comforts of a world-class brand with a local appeal now have a place to call their base.

Situated on the doorstep of the Thai capital’s skytrain network, Lumen Bangkok Udomsuk Station is nestled in the heart of one of the city’s last bastions of quaint yesteryear charm but with the contemporary conveniences of today. A hub of youthful exuberance and vintage appeal, Udomsuk has easy access to BITEC Bangna, a premier business and entertainment venue, with a plethora of dining, entertainment, and cultural experiences. Whether guests seek food, fun, culture, or an active lifestyle, they can discover it at Lumen Bangkok Udomsuk Station.

Lumen is a special hospitality brand that truly matches the destination to the product, making it a really unique proposition. It is a brand that adapts to its neighbourhood and brings the local community into its fold. Our unique firefly icon symbolises the constant sparkle and warmth that we aim to add to every guest’s experience. And, as no two Lumen’s will be alike, we believe the possibilities are endless for this brand,” said Harry Thaliwal, CEO of Cross Hotels & Resorts.

The partnership with Italmar (Thailand) Co., Ltd. marks the second successful collaboration after the acclaimed Cross Vibe Bangkok Sukhumvit opened in 2017. This long-term partnership underscores the trust and mutual commitment between Italmar and Cross Hotels & Resorts, as more local developers and hotel owners seek a shared vision and a global alternative.

Direk Vongvairoj, Chairman of Italmar (Thailand) Co., Ltd., shared his excitement about the partnership, adding, “Lumen is an exciting offering that allows us to pioneer the development of Udomsuk and the eastern part of Bangkok. We believe in a fruitful partnership with Cross Hotels & Resorts, leveraging our combined strengths to achieve our business goals and unlock the full potential of this project.”

Lumen Bangkok Udomsuk Station boasts 102 stylishly designed guest rooms, a rooftop infinity pool offering panoramic views, and an array of amenities designed to cater to the needs of modern travellers. With its prime location and convenient access to Suvarnabhumi International Airport, the hotel serves as an ideal base for exploring Bangkok’s famed retail landscape including Bangkok Mall – The Grand Metropolis, what will be the largest shopping centre in Southeast Asia.

For a true local experience, guests can immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Udomsuk Walk night market and Train Night Market Srinakarin with Lumen’s ‘Our Routes’, a series of curated guides to discover a different side of Udomsuk. With a reward map in hand, guests at Lumen Bangkok Udomsuk Station are encouraged to visit local destinations to win fantastic prizes.

Each Lumen hotel is infused with local flair through curated signatures tailored to the setting. For example, at Lumen Bangkok Udomsuk Station guests can savour the irresistible Mango Sticky Rice Ice Cream, made from Udomsuk’s famed Mae Thong Kham mango sticky rice. Then, as night falls, the lobby dazzles with immersive light displays. As morning arrives invigorating Breakfast Shooters await to energise guests after memorable city nights.

Cross Hotels & Resorts’ current portfolio includes 28 hotels under six distinct brands – Cross, Cross Vibe, Away, Lumen, Cross Collection, and Kaura – across four countries, namely Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, and Vietnam.
