Russia took the 2nd place in number of the tourists in Israel. 551 thousand Russian tourists visited Israel in 2010 (+37% in comparison with 2009). According to the results of 2010, the total number of foreign visitors in Israel increased by 23% and amounted to 3 277 500 people. The 1st place takes the American market (18.9%), Russia takes the 2nd place (16.8%) and the French market keeps the 3rd place (8.8%).
Almost half of the Russian tourists who visited Israel were the cruise passengers (232,700 people). The number of one-day trips of the foreigners amounted to 472 500 people. So, almost every second tourist, who visits Israel for one-day trip, comes from Russia.
The most popular tour operators in TourIndex system during the period from July to December 2010 became: Coral (6.5%), ICS Travel Group (6%), Capital Tour (4.8%), Solvex (4.4%), Paks (4.2%), Russian Express (4.1%), Megapolus tours (3.7%), Yuzhny Krest (3.4%), VKO Travel (3.3%) and Vand International (3.1%).
The most popular destinations in Israel according to TourIndex system became: Eilat (47.6%), Dead Sea (21.8%), Tel Aviv (11.2%), Netanya (8.7%), Jerusalem (6%) and Haifa (2.2%).
