Furthering broadening Vietnam’s overall capacity to service the country’s burgeoning MICE business, Trails of Indochina is now offering professional conference organisers a good opportunity to include a highly unusual and very alternate venue for their Vietnam-bound clients – the Ancient Hu cultural complex located in the in former imperial capital of Hu.
Owned and operated by Trails of Indochina, Ancient Hu is housed inside a lovingly-restored 2,000 square metre complex comprising five intricately carved wooden and tile buildings which combined provide a convention/reception facility for up to 300 people inside and a further 150 people outside.
The five former royal houses, most of which are more than 150 years old, were originally located in nearby villages and were required to be carefully moved, piece by piece to their new location for restoration.
Features of the complex include an art gallery and a central courtyard, the venue for daily public performances of traditional regional dance and court music and a convention/reception facility for up to 300 people. Complete with air conditioning the art gallery can also be used as a separate breakout room for up to 30 people at a time.
One of several culturally oriented, themed events Trails of Indochina is able to organise on behalf of groups is the ‘Royal Cuisine’ cooking classes where participants under the watchful eyes of expert local chefs learn how to prepare just some of the 300 dishes traditionally served at ‘Nguyen Emperors Banquets’ for which Hu has been famous for centuries.
Taking place in the complex’s restaurant, ‘Royal Cuisine’ cooking classes can cater from 2 to 20 participants at a time.
