National carrier Olympic Airways is confident it will soar safely into the new millennium after its
The entire procedure was declared a success while a number of conclusions drawn from the tests will be passed on to the Rollover Command Centre (the control centre responsible for overseeing the transition into the new millennium) and Y2K-CRAG (the Communication Reporting and Advisory Group, an operational centre which receives and evaluates information). These two centres will coordinate the airline`s operations – the measures and decisions it will take – in conjunction with the IATA command centre during the crucial period of transition to 2000.
The tests encompassed 13 scheduled Olympic flights on domestic and international routes along with flights of foreign carriers such as Cyprus Airways, Singapore Airlines, Emirates and Tarom.
