Amadeus forms strategic partnership with Meituan, leading Chinese e-commerce platform

New partnership enables iHotelier® customers to sell inventory on the Meituan platform.

PEOPLES’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA, BEIJING – China’s technology-driven retail platform, Meituan, enables its hundreds of millions of users to book anything from restaurants, movie tickets and travel itineraries. Now, thanks to a new partnership with Amadeus, hoteliers using iHotelier Channel Management will be able to connect directly to Meituan to share their availability, rates and inventory – opening their properties to new Chinese travellers.

As the e-commerce platform among millennials in China, Meituan strives to grow its content to stay ahead of the curve and give its users the most options. This new collaboration drives value for Meituan by giving its users access to new hotel content across the world, ensuring that travellers who are making hotel reservations on Meituan have access to a broad range of options no matter where they choose to stay for the night.

Meanwhile, iHotelier customers will have the opportunity to access Meituan’s extensive network of users. Combined with iHotelier Channel Management’s robust network of 400+ global and local channels, hoteliers will additionally be able to further maximize their distribution capabilities and drive demand to their properties through Meituan.

“As a technology-driven retail company in China, we’re always looking for the best content for our users. We’re happy to partner with Amadeus to expand the hotel inventory on our platform. We’re confident that together, we can boost travel bookings and help more travelers build better journeys,” says Vincent Xie, General Manager, Overseas Lodging, Meituan.

“It’s an honor to be able to collaborate with Meituan in China. Its understanding of the market and user experience in China is unparalleled. We are proud to enable our iHotelier customers to connect to Meituan users,” says Malcolm Cheong, General Manager, Hospitality, China, Amadeus.
