Taiwan Tourism Administration expands reach in American MICE market

The Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) makes strategic moves at IMEX America to boost convention and exhibition tourism, showcasing Taiwan’s MICE strengths.

The Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) is actively deploying in the American market. Following successful North American promotional activities in September, in October the TTA will head to Las Vegas, Nevada to create new opportunities for convention/exhibition tourism, promote the development of Taiwan’s MICE industry and showcase Taiwan’s excellent MICE environment and facilities.

The TTA and Taiwan MICE industry representatives will participate in “IMEX America” from October 17-19, 2023. IMEX America is an international exhibition focused on incentive travel, meetings, and events. It’s North America’s largest trade show for the meetings and events industry. In 2022, it attracted 3,331 exhibitors and about 12,000 participants. This year’s event will again attract a variety of MICE-related organizations from around the world, including Destination Canada, Tourism New Zealand, Atout France (the France Tourism Development Agency), the Abu Dhabi Convention & Exhibition Bureau, the Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions, and the Spanish Tourist Board. This highlights the importance of exploring the American market through IMEX America, which is a key event for promoting Taiwan’s convention, exhibition and incentive tourism industry.

This year, the TTA and the Taipei City Government have organized a joint delegation and will lead seven Taiwanese MICE-related operators (including three international airlines) to Las Vegas to promote direct-flight travel between Taiwan and the US. The TTA is also promoting non-resident tourism to Taiwan via a government program launched on May 1, 2023 that is designed to accelerate the expansion of international inbound tourism.ac

Taiwan has unique competitive advantages in Asian tourism, including diverse tourism resources, delicious food, an excellent safety record, a convenient transportation system and a friendly cultural environment. These elements make Taiwan a very popular choice for international tourists. The TTA hopes to fully demonstrate the potential of Taiwan’s convention and business tourism at IMEX America and will continue to promote Taiwan’s MICE brand image and the industry’s long-term development.
