As part of their continued commitment to their Australia and New Zealand business, Travelmood, one of the UK’s travel companies is conducting their inaugural Training Academy in Cairns from 26 March to 10 April.
A team of 10 new consultants and two training managers will base themselves in Cairns as they undergo intensive training before joining the Travelmood selling network. In between systems training and company induction, these consultants will also take the opportunity to explore the region and experience a variety of products that make up one of Travelmood’s most popular destinations.
The Parker Travel Collection has been engaged to facilitate all aspects of this initiative in Tropical North Queensland and has been asked by Travelmood to organise and conduct a workshop day as a finale to their training sessions.
North Queensland based tourism operators have been specifically requested by Travelmood to present their product to its trainees at a Workshop to be held at Lago’s Restaurant, The Lakes Resort and Spa, Cairns on Monday 10 April.
Parker Travel Collection’s managing director, Todd Parker said the choice of Cairns as the training venue is a coup for the region.
“Travelmood send 50,000 visitors a year to Australia and the chance to highlight our region will introduce many benefits to our tourism industry. Next Monday’s workshop forum, in particular, is an outstanding opportunity for local operators to promote their product on home soil to one of the UK’s largest travel companies,” Todd Parker said.
The Lakes Cairns Resort and Spa has supported the initiative by hosting accommodation and setting up a training academy at the resort with a dedicated computer reservations link so the consultants will be working ‘live’ with their own system back in the UK. This is the first ever training academy from any travel company in the UK.
