Gabriella Alberici, ICC Sydney’s Senior Manager, joins the prestigious AIPC Future Shapers leadership program, marking the venue’s third consecutive nomination in global talent development.

For the third consecutive year, International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), managed by ASM Global, has successfully nominated a senior team member to participate in the International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC) Future Shapers leadership program. Gabriella Alberici, ICC Sydney’s Senior Manager, Business Development – Corporate, Government and Events has been selected to represent the venue.

ICC Sydney CEO and Group Director – Convention Centres, ASM Global (APAC), Geoff Donaghy said that he was proud to have another team member among the nine global candidates enrolled in AIPC’s intense leadership program that has previously fostered industry innovation while nurturing candidates’ growth and development.

“In the world of convention center management, having one of our most respected, high-performing senior business development team members invited to undertake the course will help our international community address the challenges and leverage the opportunities most relevant to our industry, and ultimately better support our venue’s clients to deliver extraordinary events.

“After two consecutive years of participation in the AIPC Future Shapers program where four senior leaders in our organization developed solutions for our industry through the AIPC Future Shapers program, we have no doubt Gabriella’s passion and experience will drive further industry innovations. Having joined ICC Sydney in our pre-opening, Gabriella’s wealth of knowledge will be invaluable to the latest Future Shapers cohort,” Mr Donaghy said.

The AIPC Future Shapers program is led by AIPC CEO, Sven Bossu and several international convention center leaders including founding taskforce member, ICC Sydney Director of Corporate Affairs, Communication and Sustainability, Samantha Glass.

The AIPC Future Shapers program was developed to supercharge the skills and contribution of our industry’s high-performing talent and provide them with the opportunity to step out of their day-to-day operations, to address the challenges our industry faces.

“I congratulate the latest Future Shapers participants worldwide, including ICC Sydney’s Gabriella Alberici, on their selection and I look forward to working closely with them across the three key stages of the program encompassing masterclasses, business case development and presentation, in the lead up to the AIPC Conference,” Ms Glass said.

Through education, a community of peers and mentors, and a platform to perform, the program has already supported 29 senior leaders to be the future shapers of the business events industry.

Gabriella Alberici is a passionate business events professional who is renowned for her great integrity and authentic approach to servicing a broad range of clients and events. Having operated in the world of conferences and events for two decades, Gabriella has extensive knowledge of the industry and the requirements necessary to develop and implement successful events and meetings. Gabriella was part of the pre-opening business development team that successfully launched ICC Sydney and has proactively worked for over eight years to attract high-profile corporate, government and local events to the venue.

The AIPC Future Shapers eight-month accelerated leadership course provides participants with an interactive roadmap towards excellence in convention center management. Objectives of the AIPC Future Shapers program appeal to candidates and their venues alike as the course supports talent retention, growth and success and the opportunity to provide a lasting positive legacy for the industry. The program will culminate in the participants presenting a pitch to the global AIPC convention center community at the 2024 AIPC Conference in Costa Rica next July.
