TAT – Mahan Air Fam Trip to Thailand 2016

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Dubai and Middle East office in cooperation with Royal Thai Embassy Tehran and Mahan Air, held in January a familiarization trip for 26 travel agents from Tehran and four social media influencers based in Iran. On January 8, TAT organized a special table top session wherein Iran agents had a chance to meet more than 55 Thai private companies from hotels, recreation and theme parks to travel agencies.

Iran market is one of the most dynamic market in our region. Iranian tourist in Thailand shows an incredible development over the last year. Based on recent survey conducted, Thailand still leads on top ten for Iranian outbound travellers in terms of facilities such as hotel accommodations, theme & leisure parks, dining, shopping and general entertainment – a clear manifestation that Thailand is still on the top of travel list of Iranians”.

During his speech he mentioned that Middle East visitors to Thailand from January to November 2015 totaled 603,001. The arrivals from United Arab Emirates were 113,228, from Iran 81,404, from Oman 80,365, and from Kuwait 63,214.

Mr Hosseini during his speech said that “while we are fortunate that many Iranians have already been to Thailand and hopefully planning their next holiday, the demands of travel to Thailand is gradually increasing as well as the demand of family, luxury and new destination travels.”

During his speech he added that “Last year, there were 67,179 Iranian tourist arrivals to Thailand, being a decrease of 4.86% from 2013. As of the first 11 months of this year, the number of Iranian tourist arrival is 81,404, being an increase of 29.91% from 2014. This is obviously show a development of this market and we still trust that we will be welcoming more and more of Iranian this year. Based on a recent survey conducted, Thailand still leads top ten for Iranian outbound travellers in terms of facilities with its geographical advantage, incomparable hospitality, cultural authenticity that match with our “luxury affordable” marketing plan to enhance Family & Leisure as well as quality tourism. We have so much to offer such as luxury hotel accommodations, theme & leisure parks, dining, shopping, health and wellness and general entertainment. Neverthelss, Iranian tourists will still experience the charm of Thainess while in Thailand. Additionally, DMC agents have included new destination packages for Iranian Tour operators as well as a growing offers of luxury packages.
