Ngong Ping 360, Hong Kong’s stunning new tourism attraction, is enticing the meetings and incentives market by offering special events for corporate and private groups in Hong Kong’s most exciting and unique venue. The dramatic new tourism experience, which combines a journey aboard Asia’s aerial cableway to the Tian Tan Buddha Statue on Lantau Island with an impressive cultural themed village and breathtaking panoramic views over Hong Kong, will open at the end of June 2006.

Events at Ngong Ping Village will be tailored to include creative outdoor/indoor activities, street performances and cultural shows, and can be further enhanced by incorporating the entertaining attractions at the village: Walking With Buddha and Monkey’s Tale Theatre.

“This iconic new attraction for Hong Kong offers something completely new and different for the meetings and incentives market,” said Ngong Ping 360 Managing Director, Bill Calderwood.

“We are also anticipating a lot of interest from private parties and people who wish to celebrate their special occasions at Ngong Ping Village.”

Ngong Ping 360 consists of a 5.7km Ngong Ping Skyrail cable car journey from Tung Chung, close to Hong Kong’s international airport, to its mountaintop terminal at the Ngong Ping Village. The journey provides panoramic views, and the Ngong Ping Village has been designed to reflect and maintain the cultural and spiritual integrity of the area. As well as incorporating several major themed attractions, the village also boasts traditional Chinese architectural design features and a variety of shopping and dining experiences.

It is managed by Skyrail-ITM (Hong Kong) Ltd, whose Australian parent company is one of the most experienced cable-car operators in the world, with operations including the world-famous Skyrail Rainforest Cableway in Cairns and SkySafari cableway at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo.
