Scott Samuels, President of Horizon Hospitality, announced the expansion of Horizon Hospitality into the Convention & Visitor Bureau/Chamber of Commerce talent acquisition market segments. Mr. Samuels founded the company in 1998 and, since its inception, Horizon Hospitality has become recognized as the leading nationwide provider of top-tier talent for hotels, resorts, country clubs and restaurants. The growth of America’s service industry has fueled tremendous growth of communities investing in economic development through tourism, meetings and the trade show industries. Likewise, cities across America are rallying around local Chamber’s to improve commerce and job creation. Mr. Samuels stated “Horizon Hospitality recognizes the competitive nature of economic development throughout the nation. Our primary goal is to assist local leaders in securing the finest talent in America to staff these prominent positions. Mr. Samuels also announced the appointment of Dave Nolan as Executive Vice President for the new division of Horizon Hospitality. Mr. Nolan brings over 30 years of hotel, convention and visitor bureau and chamber of commerce experience to the firm. Mr. Samuels remarked, “When we completed our strategic plan to grow our company and penetrate the economic development market, our first priority was to attract a very experienced and knowledgeable partner to lead our expansion plans. Dave absolutely met and exceeded the successful attributes we believe are critically important to our company, our clients and future candidates”. Mr. Nolan added, “I’m pleased that my 13 year tenure with Marriott International and 18 years of senior management in CVB’s and Chambers will be applied to assisting the team at Horizon Hospitality and the industry as a whole. Horizon Hospitality will officially kick off the opening of its new division at this year’s Destination Marketing Association International on July 20-22, 2011 in New Orleans. Horizon Hospitality is headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas.
