Modern five-star hotel, Cordis, Hong Kong, formerly Langham Place Hotel, announced its participation at the upcoming annual two-day Asia-Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo 2016 (AIME) in Melbourne, Australia, from 23-24 February 2016, as a Hong Kong partner to invite new MICE business from the region to Asia’s world city, Hong Kong.
Having recently rebranded from Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong, Cordis is the first of a new generation of curated upscale hotels by Langham Hospitality Group that is devoted to guests’ needs and well-being, catering to both business and leisure travellers.
Together with the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the hotel, rising 42 storeys above bustling Mongkok, is situated in the vibrant heart of dynamic Hong Kong overlooking Kowloon, offering authentic sights, sounds and the best of market shopping right at its doorstep. Cordis will be exhibiting to promote its unique MICE privileges, venue choices, vibrant business environment and professional services that cater to meeting and conference planners.
Recently, renovated, the hotel has established new industry benchmarks with the introduction of multiple technology advancements throughout its 664 renovated guest rooms, its eleven function rooms – many with natural light from floor to ceiling windows – a new Club Lounge and creative meeting menus, offering an elevated meeting and event experience for delegates. Complimentary handy smart phones are provided per room including local and international calls, wifi, tethering and camera and video capabilities ideal for delegates to stay connected to home and businesses throughout their stay in Hong Kong.
As an industry leader in providing innovative technology for its guests, the hotel has invested in three super-sized LED high-definition screens as the newest additions to the city’s popular ballroom, one of the few in Hong Kong to offer cinematic viewing screens in both size and scale. The digitally-advanced, glossy electronic backdrops takes traditional projector screens to new levels where presentations, images and videos are instantly visible in superb resolution with liquid crystal clarity, strengthening the calibre and professionalism of events, conferences, meetings and receptions. High-quality playback, live-feeds, high-speed remote uploading and replay functions may instantly be transferred to the screen, making it an ideal platform to showcase videos and captured moments from events on site.
Other engaging meeting and event spaces include the naturally lit, panoramic Star Room, opening out to the hotel’s chic rooftop pool, offering a capacity of up to 300 guests. The cosy and flexible Shanghai and Shantung Rooms, as well as the hotel’s signature restaurant, Two Michelin Star Cantonese restaurant Ming Court, recognised by Michelin for eight years, weather-proof outdoor deck, The Backyard, and all-day dining restaurant, The Place are all designed to accommodate varying group sizes and requirements.
Unique to the Kowloon area, the hotel’s 5,500 square foot modern Mediterranean restaurant and bar, Alibi – Wine Dine Be Social offers shared plates, fine wines, reinvented classic cocktails and coffee artistry, and features a 30-seat semi-private area, ideal for small groups and private cocktails.
“Keeping our product at the top end of the market allows us to offer the best facilities throughout our function space, anticipating the needs and expectations of planners and bookers. Along with the investment in technology, all our spaces have been redesigned with plush new carpets, creating a seamless and impressive meeting experience for every guest, right here in the heart of the city,” Shane Pateman, managing director of Cordis, Hong Kong.
During leisure time, delegates can easily pop to the 200-shop Langham Place Mall connected to the hotel, housing high-street and local designer brands, a cinema complex and the Mongkok MTR station, all with easy access to popular business and leisure destinations and districts in the city.
Complimentary daily tours on art, culture, markets and more are ideal for delegates to discover, and for those needing the ultimate in relaxation, oversized baths and showers in the panoramic guest rooms and quiet time at Chuan Spa, the sanctuary that offers over 60 treatments based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, are all available at the stylish hotel.
