CITS American Express Business Travel named 2011 Best Corporate Travel Management Company in China

CITS American Express Business Travel has been named the 2011 “Best Corporate Travel Management Company” by TravelWeekly China. CITS American Express Business Travel had been a previous recipient of the award for several times.

The TravelWeekly awards are nominated by a distinguished panel of industry experts and voted on by readers of TravelWeekly China. It represents the recognition of CITS American Express Business Travel’s success in the field of Corporate Travel Management by its industry peers.

“I am honored that CITS American Express Business Travel has won this industry award. This is great recognition for the hard work, dedication and service excellence of this team,” said Marco Pellizzer, Vice President, American Express & General Manager, China, CITS American Express Business Travel. “This award is a demonstration of our commitment to and continued investment in the China market.”

Driven by improved global trade, business travel is expected to increase by 9.2% in 2011 to just over $1 trillion, according to Global Business Travel Association (GBTA). Annual growth in business travel is more concentrated in BRIC countries, where growth is projected to be two to three times faster than in developed countries like the U.S. and the U.K. Forecasts from GBTA predict that China will grow at 11.2% between 2011 and 2015 – the strongest compound annual growth in business travel in the world.

Moreover, travel needs are growing as businesses in Asia are looking to expand and compete in new markets regionally and worldwide. Although business travel yields significant returns to a company’s bottom line, rising airfares may give financial controllers pause. Working with experienced professionals like CITS American Express can help companies to source long-term pricing arrangements with travel providers and find ways to keep business travel cost-effective.
