Hong Kong Airlines expands winter offerings with exclusive routes to Hakodate and Yonago

Hong Kong Airlines

Hong Kong Airlines announces the launch of seasonal services to Hakodate and Yonago, further diversifying its Japanese portfolio to meet the nuanced demands of travelers and optimizing winter itinerary options.

Hong Kong Airlines announced the launch of two highly anticipated winter season routes to Hakodate and Yonago. Operating from 18 December 2023 to 24 February 2024, these two seasonal services will run four times weekly, making Hong Kong Airlines the only Hong Kong carrier to offer both routes.

Hakodate, the fifth destination launched by the company this year, will operate flights every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. This new route complements our existing service to Sapporo, catering to the needs of Hong Kong tourists eager to visit Hokkaido during the peak winter season. Rich in history, Hakodate offers travellers a chance to immerse themselves in a romantic ambiance of yesteryears. Attractions such as Motomachi, a historic district renowned for its Western-style architecture, and the iconic Goryokaku Fort, a star-shaped fortress with significant historical relevance, are must-visits.

Travellers can explore Hokkaido’s southern and central regions by arriving in Hakodate and departing from Sapporo, or vice versa. This convenient option allows passengers flying with Hong Kong Airlines to embark on a memorable journey. They can start in Hakodate, experience a ski trip in Niseko, or visit the rejuvenating hot springs of Lake Toya or Noboribetsu, before wrapping up their adventure in Sapporo.

In response to customers’ feedback and travel preferences, Hong Kong Airlines is also resuming service to Yonago at the same time period. This hidden gem, renowned for its natural beauty and cultural significance, offers attractions such as the majestic Mount Daisen and breathtaking sand dunes. For an enriched travel experience, travellers can combine a visit to Osaka with their trip to Yonago. This flexible travel arrangement allows them to explore the captivating cities of western Japan and maximise their winter itinerary.

By adding Hakodate and Yonago to its winter schedule, Hong Kong Airlines will operate nine destinations in Japan, complementing its current routes to Sapporo, Tokyo (Narita), Osaka, Okinawa, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Kumamoto. This service expansion underscores the company’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for travel, catering to the evolving needs of travellers and providing passengers with greater flexibility in planning their winter getaways.
