Greece and China sign new Bilateral Aviation Agreement

Discover the details of the newly signed Bilateral Aviation Agreement (BAA) between Greece and China, aimed at modernizing aviation relations and promoting passenger and cargo transport.

As part of the official visit by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Staikouras, to Beijing, representing the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis along with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Kostas Fragogiannis, a new Bilateral Aviation Agreement (BAA) between Greece and China was signed on Friday during the Inauguration Ceremony of the 6th China International Import Expo.

The new BAA, fully compliant with EU law and the Horizontal Agreement between the EU and China, allows for the appointment of multiple airlines from both sides.

This new Aviation Agreement will replace the existing one from 1973, modernizing the aviation framework and enhancing passenger and cargo transportation between the two countries.
