Hunter Valley Wine Country pitched for a greater share of the conference and meeting industry pie when it went “on sale” in Sydney last Thursday at a sparkling event at the Sebel Pier One Hotel. Overlooking a beautiful, clear night on Sydney Harbour, meetings and events professionals mingled with the conference teams from Hunter Valley Wine Country, who were in town to showcase their offerings.

According to event organiser, Ms Chelsea Rule, the evening captured the essence of Hunter style and inspiration and delivered a fun, relaxing and inspiring event.

Master of Ceremonies, Brian McGuigan, kept everyone entertained with his excitement and passion for the Hunter Valley. Those in attendance were delighted with the great wine, sumptuous food and local beers on offer.

“It was a wonderful way to show the extensive array of new product and the fact that this area can cater for the intimate meeting of 12 people through to large scale extravaganzas, all against the backdrop of the timeless beauty of rolling vineyard countryside,” said Chelsea.

Tourism NSW Executive Director, Mr John O’Neill, attended the evening and officially launched the new online Hunter Valley Wine Country Tourism conferencing inquiries system.

In launching the new conferencing web facility he spoke of the value and importance of the Internet to the tourism, and of how helpful the site would be to event organisers.

John O’Neill praised the continual development of the great offerings available in the Hunter Valley and pledged his support in helping the Hunter Valley become the Napa Valley of Australia.

The event was judged a great success with a high level of engagement between the attendees and local business representatives.
