What consumers really think about loyalty programs

Loyalty rewards have become a big topic of conversation as Tom Stuker became the first person to reach the 10 million mile mark in United’s Mileage Plus program.

To add to the conversation, Points.com, the largest loyalty reward management platform, has just unveiled timely survey results that show how consumers are catching on to the importance of leveraging loyalty rewards in everyday life.

– 68 percent of users surveyed recognize that they save money by participating in loyalty programs.
– 78 percent of users have gone out of their way to make sure they earn points or miles when they travel or spend money.
– 86 percent of users never miss a chance to earn points or miles in their favorite program.
– 76 percent of users agree that it’s important to keep track of loyalty program balances in order to redeem for award flights or other perks.
