Vietjet President & CEO Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao listed in Forbes’ 100 most powerful women in the world

BANGKOK – Vietjet’s President and CEO, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, has been named in the Forbes Magazine Women Who Lead the World 2016. Through meticulous analysis of the world’s most successful women via the metrics of money, media presence, spheres of influence and impact, Forbes Magazine USA determined the Top 100 most powerful women in the world across the categories of Politics, Business, Philanthropy, Billionaires, Media and Finance. Vietjet’s President and CEO, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is Vietnam’s first woman to be in the list who placed Number 62 overall, on a list that featured Angela Merkel, Hillary Clinton and Janet Yellen.
  
Under her leadership, Vietjet has captured the largest market share in the local aviation industry and rapidly developed an international network in less than five years of operations. Her success with the airline came about through applying a well-prepared strategic investment plan to ensure sustainable development. In real estate and tourism, Thao is also famous for her ownership of some of the most highly regarded five-star resorts and hotels in Vietnam, including Furama Resort Danang, Ana Mandara, An Lam Ninh Van Bay, and Phu Long Residence Area in HCMC, developed with an investment of one billion dollars. Thao is also known in the field of finance, where she serves as Standing Vice Chairwoman of HDBank, which has grown 15 times over whilst she has been on its board.
