TripZilla kickstarts Sustainable Travel campaign in preparation for the comeback of tourism

As borders start to reopen, travel and culture digital platform TripZilla invites the community to revisit how we can better respect the places we go to and the faces we meet.

Singapore – It’s no secret that the pandemic has put a halt to international travel. During this hiatus, many travellers and the tourism industry have become more aware of the impact travel has on the community and environment; such as polluted nature spots, deforestation, sites overfatigued by mismanaged foot traffic, wasted energy sources, and continuous dependence on single-use plastic.

It’s alarming that it had to take a pandemic in order for certain destinations to partially recover. But what happens in the long-term, when travel resumes and we resort to old ways?

Let’s not forget the climate deadline in 2030, during which global emissions must be halved in order to stop irreversible damage, as cited in a United Nations General Assembly. Thus, it’s about time we revisit how we can travel more responsibly, especially now that borders are starting to reopen.

Final Call: Sustainable Tourism, a digital series to watch out for

In response to this, TripZilla has launched its series on sustainable travel titled Final Call: Sustainable Travel. Through this series, we prepare to take on the world post-pandemic, while addressing possible issues that come with ‘revenge travel.’ The campaign aims to help travellers make the right choices by connecting them with brands and institutions that act as thought leaders in the tourism and leisure sectors.

“This pause in travel has taught us that travelling is a privilege and not an entitlement.  As countries roll out aggressive vaccination programmes and the world gets ready to explore again, it is timely for TripZilla to launch this series and do our part to spread awareness for sustainable travel practices,” said Winnie Tan, CEO and founder of TripZilla.

Are we ready to make Sustainable Travel a norm?

Final Call: Sustainable Travel is geared towards preparing for what comes next: How do we enact meaningful changes that will make a lasting difference when travel returns? Through a collection of digital content, it aims to spark meaningful exchanges on the following:

  • Reducing environmental impact and footprint
  • Enhancing livelihoods and well-being of local communities
  • Enabling animal conservation
  • Making a stand against overtourism

This is TripZilla’s call to bring the travel community together, for a cause that should include anyone who has enjoyed the charms of any destination or journey. As the tourism sector finds its footing once more, travellers should also do the same.

Together, we can safeguard epic trips for generations to come, by putting people and the planet first. Ready to be part of this movement?
