Web-based travel resource bridges the gap between agents and consumers

TripAtlas.com; 130% increase in consumer travel leads from December 2009

In January 2010, TripAtlas.com has seen a 130% increase in consumer travel leads from December 2009 – as well as a 60% increase since the summer – and is encouraging agents and tour operators to take advantage and become part of the fastest-growing all-in-one travel magazine, research and booking portal. Travel agents can access the site via TripAtlasPro.com, TripAtlas.com’s dedicated website for industry professionals.

One of the site’s travel veteran founders, Steven Kaufman, president of TripAtlas.com, is reaching out to travel professionals to further enhance the TripAtlas PRO program.”Thanks to our media partnerships, inspirational travel content and successful destination-sponsored marketing campaigns, the consumer leads have been pouring into the site,” said Kaufman.

“It’s a wonderful affirmation that we’ve hit on the right strategy with our business model, but lately we’ve had more consumer trip requests than our TripAtlas PRO agents can handle. We’ve started a membership drive to enlist additional agent specialists to handle the increase in generated leads,” noted Kaufman.

TripAtlas PRO is a comprehensive online platform for travel professionals combining four key elements – reviewing and answering travel leads, online marketing of travel packages, building customer relations and tracking industry trends.

When becoming a TripAtlas PRO, agents and the travel agencies have the ability to market themselves online by enhancing their company profiles – called “Storefronts” – with a variety of components including company website links, 10 descriptive keyword tags, detailed contact information, photos, staff bios, as well as an appearance in the “newest companies” section which is visible on most of the 90 million pages within TripAtlas.com.

“Becoming a TripAtlas PRO was one of the greatest and easiest decisions our agency has made in a long time because it has connected us with several new clients without spending a lot of money,” said Ellen Karpman, President of Rockville, Maryland-based Research Travel.

“The lead referrals have been tremendous, while the site has transformed the way we are able to engage customers with products and offers that are of great interest.  The annual fee is minimal, whereas the value TripAtlas PRO brings to the table is priceless,” added Karpman.

Each week TripAtlas.com selects the most popular trips published by travel agents and wholesalers to be sent to consumers via weekly TripAlert emails.  TripAlerts are sent to the thousands of consumers subscribing to TripAltas.com as well as posted on various social media outlets.

TripAtlas.com was launched in 2007 and has quickly grown into the largest online travel resource with more than 90 million pages in 12 different languages.
