Travesse Lifestyle Ltd. confirmed a comprehensive programme of investment designed to reinvigorate its newly-acquired industry booking engine, Starfish. The industry-proven distribution channel, which specialises in luxury and boutique accommodation, will benefit from £1.3million of investment over the next two and a half years, to improve functionality as well as content.
Starfish already benefits from over 20 years of technological development and, with complex search capabilities and a sophisticated rules engine, it allows hoteliers to include any number of value-added offers.
The improvements will make the booking engine faster, increase its list of aggregators, offer an improved customer benefits programme and generate new supporting editorial content.
Through Starfish, hotels can manage their pricing in line with availability and publish real-time rates on Travesse Lifestyle Ltd. websites as well as on affiliate partners’ sites, including Conde Nast Traveller, Red Online UK, Room for Romance, LUXE/City Guides and Luxique. Travesse Lifestyle-owned sites alone attract over half a million unique visitors per month.
“We are investing time, effort and technology in improving the Starfish system. It’s an established industry search engine so we’re starting from a good base, but our aim is to take it to the next level,” says Amir Azulay, CEO, Travesse Lifestyle Ltd.
“It’s not just about the investment; we are committed to creating real partnerships with hotels, to better understand their needs and to drive traffic and bookings – partnerships that will work for hotels and their customers,” continues Azulay.
“We’ll also be growing our affiliate network, so Starfish will give hoteliers access to an even bigger customer base,” concludes Azulay.
Travesse Lifestyle Ltd. recently acquired Starfish along with Perfect Escapes, US private sale site Spire, luxury and boutique hotel specialist Chic Retreats and the editorially led Travel Intelligence and Suzanne’s Files. The company already owns the exclusive, members-only luxury travel site Travesse.com as well as TheTravelEditor.com, a leading source for travel-specific editorial content.
Travesse Lifestyle Ltd. aims to become the complete online luxury travel service with retail, private sales, professional reviews and a powerful booking platform, forming the four core pillars of its complete luxury travel offering.
