The Sukosol, Bangkok experiences dramatic MICE growth following facelift and rebranding

Sukosol Hotels flagship property is reaping the rewards of a strategic investment.

BANGKOK — The Sukosol, Bangkok has seen a surge in bookings for meetings and conferences since carrying out a 400 million baht refurbishment of the property last year. MICE business has increased by 40%, with a particular demand for themed events.

“The response has been incredible,” says Marisa Sukosol Nunbhakdi, Executive Vice President. “We have always been well regarded amongst local organisers, but this year, with the completion of our renovations, we have seen a real surge in Incentives, as well as many more regional events from China to Korea and even Europe.”

In parallel with the renovations, The Sukosol has invested in the development of their renowned service staff.  The hotel’s banqueting team underwent an extensive training programme, aimed at ensuring their ability to consistently exceed global MICE service standards, including fire safety and environmental protection. In addition, the hotel hired a number of event specialists to assist organisers personally with the many small, but critical details that are essential to the running of a smooth and successful event.

With the support of the hotel’s award-winning food and beverage teams, The Sukosol is now able to offer a number of innovative cultural theme parties and fun breaks like the popular Chocolate Heaven coffee break, which help to make meetings and conferences that much more memorable for attendees.

The Sukosol also benefits from a convenient downtown location, with easy airport access that is an important factor for regional delegates. Within the hotel itself, the diversity of venues, from a spacious, flexible ballroom to vibrant, naturally lit conference rooms, as well as attractive outdoor options is a further plus.

“As part of the multi-million baht transformation at The Sukosol, we have re-energised our meetings services and facilities,” says President Kamala Sukosol.

Well-known for her annual charity concert extravaganzas in aid of the Thai Red Cross, Kamala Sukosol and her family are talented performers and artists and bring their creative flair to the Sukosol Hotels brand. “No-one can deny that we know how to put on a show in this family!”

Combining a unique blend of artistic style with professional service enables The Sukosol to make an impact.  With event and MICE organizers increasingly looking for fresh ways to impress guests and create memorable experiences for delegates, The Sukosol predicts continued growth.
