The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre #risingtogether for Kuala Lumpur 2017

Visitors attending Kuala Lumpur 2017 at the Centre are spoilt for choice given the varied and exciting range of recreational, entertainment, food & beverage and accommodation options available.

KUALA LUMPUR – The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) has been busy preparing to host six sporting events and is excited to welcome athletes and visitors to the venue for the upcoming 29th SEA (Southeast Asian) Games 2017 and the 9th ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Para Games 2017, also known as Kuala Lumpur 2017 (KL2017).

The Centre’s General Manager, Alan Pryor, shared “We are honoured to be one of the chosen venues for six sporting disciplines during KL2017. Taking place between 20 th and 31st August 2017, the Centre will be hosting Billiards & Snooker, Judo, Karate, Pencak Silat, Taekwando and Wushu.”

Pryor added, “Our teams’ excitement for the games is building and this was reinforced recently when the torch relay passed by our doorstep on its journey around Malaysia. We are really looking forward to the events getting started and welcoming everyone to what will be a fantastic sporting spectacle. We wish all the athletes the best of luck during the games and Malaysia Boleh!”

“As a purpose-built facility, we are able to deliver to the customised needs of many different types of events and unconventional functions. We pride ourselves on our flexibility and adaptability, and being chosen to hold six sporting events during Kuala Lumpur 2017 is the perfect example of this,” Pryor elaborated.

Located in the heart of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) precinct, with a view of the iconic PETRONAS Twin Towers and 50-acre KLCC Park, visitors attending Kuala Lumpur 2017 at the Centre are spoilt for choice given the varied and exciting range of recreational, entertainment, food & beverage and accommodation options available. These include Suria KLCC shopping mall, PETRONAS Twin Towers, Dewan Philharmonic Petronas, Aquaria KLCC, Galeri Petronas and Petrosains, to name a few.

“The precinct infrastructure also provides excellent accessibility and connectivity, with the majority of attractions and public transport within a comfortable 5 to 10-minute walk via covered air-conditioned walkways from the Centre. So, attending any of the KL2017 events at the venue will be hassle-free.” Pryor concluded.
