The first Best Western Plus in the Philippines

Best Western and Makati City's Antel Hotel have relaunched the brand Serenity Tower and have rebranded the hotel as the first BEST WESTERN PLUS in the Philippines.

BANGKOK – Best Western – the World’s Largest Hotel Chain – and Makati City’s Antel Hotel have celebrated two milestones – the launching of the brand new Serenity Tower and the hotel’s rebranding as the first ever Best Western Plus in the Philippines.

The twin achievements were marked at a glittering event on November 19, attended by several leading company officials. The Serenity Tower was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony presided over by Ms. Elena Jao, President & Chairman of Antel Land Holdings Inc. and Mr. Khalid Ragab, Best Western International’s Regional Operations Manager – Asia & Middle East. This was followed immediately by the main event at the AQUA function room, where guests from the travel trade, corporate partners and members of the media were present to join the celebrations.

“Being awarded the ‘PLUS’ status entails a lot of responsibility. Hand-in-hand with the Best Western International, we are committed to giving much more in all aspects of the hospitality business – an enhanced level of service, greater comfort in a modern cozy setting and an array of plush amenities, all combined to provide a truly remarkable upscale experience,” said Ms. Jen Wong, Vice President for Operations of Antel Land Holdings, Inc., who opened the evening with her welcome speech. She also expressed the hotel’s commitment to all its guests and acknowledged the hardworking and dedicated staff who work to ensure service excellence.

Ms. Yvonne D. Villacorte, General Manager of BEST WESTERN PLUS Antel Hotel agreed that the hotel’s superior service concept gave it a competitive advantage. “What truly sets us apart from the rest is our people. What has kept me strong, and what has kept our business strong, is our hardworking, sincere and warm staff who shares such genuine hospitality with all our guests,” Ms. Villacorte said.

The revamped hotel now offers three towers – A. Venue, Antel Spa and Serenity – with a total of 210 beautifully furnished suites. The hotel also features two restaurants – Azzurro Bistro & Bar offering Mediterranean cuisine and Taberna Barcelona offering a modern Spanish menu – plus three lounges, eight function rooms, two swimming pools, a pool bar, two fitness centers, two business centers, two children’s playgrounds and a Toccare Spa.

“With over 210 hotels and more than 32,000 rooms in operation, rebranding, and under construction across Asia and the Middle East, Best Western is committed to this region’s hospitality and tourism industry. And we are planning to double our portfolio in the Philippines over the next 14 months, from six to 12 hotels,” said Glenn de Souza, Best Western International’s Vice President International Operations – Asia & the Middle East.

The evening was rounded off with an address from Mr. Khalid Ragab and a toast to seal the celebration.
