Drawing upon the Taj’s international experience in the service apartments category with the exclusive luxurious apartments at the Taj Palace Hotel in Dubai and the award-winning 51 Buckingham Gate in London; the Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, one of South Asia’s finest group of hotels, has introduced Taj Wellington Mews, India’s first luxury residence complex.

To be launched by the latter half of 2004, Taj Wellington Mews marks the Taj’s foray into serviced luxury residences in India. Drawing on its rich hoteliering heritage, the luxury residences will deliver on the Taj brand promise of a luxury experience that combines the familiar comforts, space and privacy of home with the facilities and security of a luxury hotel.

Over the years, The Taj has played host to a large number of discerning guests who are required to be away from the comforts of their homes for an extended period of time. Recognizing the need to cater to this segment of holiday and business travelers, the Taj Wellington Mews complements the existing portfolio of Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces.

The launch of Taj Wellington Mews marks the foray by the Taj in the emerging category of service apartments. A key strategic thrust at the Taj has been to provide comprehensive and customized hospitality solutions across a range of consumer segments. With this foray, the company is now geared to make the Taj synonymous with gracious hospitality in all its aspects.

Taj Wellington Mews is strategically located in the heart of South Mumbai, within an arms reach of the main business and shopping areas and the cultural centres, galleries and theatres. The complex is spread over 2.6 acres of lush landscaped gardens and has been designed by John Portman and Associates, USA. Fully furnished and self-contained, it has 88 well appointed luxurious and functional apartments with options of 1-3 bedrooms. An independent tower block contains a therapeutic spa and state-of-the-art health club and a swimming pool. The Taj Wellington Mews provides other amenities such as a fully equipped kitchen, a data port, private telephones, daily housekeeping, round the clock maintenance and complete security. A high-tech Business Centre, a delicatessen, a library, separate parking facilities and discreet apartment entrances, offer guests exclusivity and convenience. (end)
