Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Royal Brunei Airlines (RBA) announced a code share cooperation between Negara Brunei Darussalam and Singapore. Under the agreement, both carriers can sell seats on each other`s services between Bandar Seri Begawan and Singapore. The first code share flight will be launched on 15 September 2003.
From 1 September onwards, customers of both carriers will be able to book on a total of 19 weekly flights between the two countries, offering their more flexibility and convenience in planning travel. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, RBA services will transit in Singapore en-route to Kolkata in Eastern India.
For these services, BI will use a mix of B757, B767 and A319 aircraft while SIA will deploy the A320 and the B772 aircraft. The A320 operated by SIA is leased from SIA`s subsidiary, SilkAir, and will be operated by SilkAir pilots and cabin crew.
