The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) will hold its inaugural conference in China alongside Asia Business Travel Market (ABTM) held during September in Shanghai this year.

Our collaboration with ACTE on the conference programme enhances ABTM`s educational component. We are delighted to work with ACTE, an organisation whose core strength is to advance the development and growth of the business travel professional worldwide. One of ABTM`s key thrusts through this partnership is to draw more regional corporate travel arrangers, buyers and managers to our inaugural business travel event. said ABTM`s Event Director, Andrew Lee.

Kenneth Phua, Director of ACTE Asia Pacific said, ABTM presents ACTE with an educational platform to introduce China`s corporate community to the principles and practices of business travel management. ACTE`s wealth of knowledge, from its educational mission in over 37 international markets worldwide is an immediate resource for Chinese corporations that want to access information on effective management of business travel expenditure and activities.

As ABTM`s Conference Sponsor, ACTE will bring in highly effective industry speakers and develop the conference programme designed to address business travel issues and challenges in Asia. ACTE will offer a general session and two breakout sessions to be held on Thursday, 4 September during ABTM 2003. ACTE will also promote ABTM to its regional members through its communication channels.

Among the experts lined up for the conference is Mr Sim Beng Khoon, Senior Global Travel Manager of Alliente Inc as the speaker for one of the workshop sessions that will be presented in mandarin. What ACTE brings is an entire global cache of information on business travel management and an ability to demonstrate how it can work in local conditions.

It is vital knowledge for companies operating in any country where domestic and international business travel volumes are expanding commented Sim who is also ACTE`s Education Representative for Asia-Pacific. The ACTE conference is only opened to ABTM`s registered exhibitors and invited buyers.

Asia Business Travel Market 2003, the exhibition cum conference targeting the business travel segment in China, will be held from 3-5 September at the Grand Hyatt Shanghai.
