Shanghai Airlines signs three-year agreement for Pratt & Whitney Engine Management Programs

Under the agreement, Pratt & Whitney's team of skilled engine performance analysts will use its web-based Advanced Diagnostics & Engine Management (ADEM) tools to monitor engine health.

Shanghai Airlines has signed a three-year Pratt & Whitney Engine Management Program agreement, which includes on-wing engine monitoring and data analysis recommendations for the airline’s fleet of 10 PW2037-powered Boeing 757-200 aircraft. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. company.

Under the agreement, Pratt & Whitney’s team of skilled engine performance analysts will use its web-based Advanced Diagnostics & Engine Management (ADEM) tools to monitor engine health and make maintenance recommendations to help Shanghai Airlines maintain world-class reliability and lower maintenance costs.

“Shanghai Airlines is fully committed to providing the best possible service to our customers,” said Guowei Cheng, vice president, Engineering, Shanghai Airlines. “Pratt & Whitney’s Engine Management Program will help us achieve this by proactively monitoring our fleet.”

“We are delighted to further strengthen our relationship with Shanghai Airlines, a valued customer that we have enjoyed working with in the past,” said Lou Quattrocchi, Pratt & Whitney Product Line Management vice president. “By providing accurate and proactive maintenance recommendations, our Engine Management Program team will help Shanghai Airlines to optimize the management of their fleet consisting of 20 on-wing PW2037 engines in addition to their six spares.”

Established in 1985, Shanghai Airlines is the first commercial airline in China. It has a fleet of 62 aircraft, serving more than 140 domestic and international destinations.
