Seatrade Cruise Asia Pacific Returns to Hong Kong: Rebuilding Asia Cruising Together

Seatrade Cruise Asia Pacific, Hong Kong 2023

Seatrade Cruise Asia Pacific returns to Hong Kong after a four-year hiatus. Discover the industry’s latest trends, opportunities, and collaborations at the event supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, fostering the revival of the Asian cruise market.

After a four-year hiatus, the cruise industry is preparing to gather in Hong Kong for the much-anticipated Seatrade Cruise Asia Pacific event. Scheduled to take place from October 24 to 26, 2023, at the JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong, this revival is set to be a focal point for cruise professionals and stakeholders in the Asia Pacific region. The event, guided by the theme “Rebuilding Asia Cruising Together,” is supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and promises a comprehensive agenda that encompasses conferences, workshops, exhibitions, and networking opportunities.

For over four decades, Seatrade has played a pivotal role in nurturing the cruise sector in the Asia Pacific region. “Cruise operations are gradually restarting in this region with some markets returning strongly to near pre-pandemic levels,” notes Chiara Giorgi, Global Brand and Event Director for Seatrade Cruise. “With several cruise lines already operating in the region and new players on the horizon, Seatrade is excited to be back in Hong Kong to continue supporting the recovery of the Asian cruise market.”

The conference’s core theme of “Rebuilding Asia Cruising Together” underscores the collaborative spirit required to overcome challenges and seize opportunities. A rich lineup of sessions will cover the latest trends, potential threats, and emerging prospects in the regional cruise industry. Experts and influential figures in the cruise domain will lead each panel, ensuring attendees gain valuable insights from the sector’s leading lights.

Among the highlights of the conference programme, the “State of the Asian Cruise Industry” session will provide a comprehensive overview of industry updates, current trends, and the outlook for the region’s future. Beyond the insightful discussions, the event will host the Supplier Showcase Zone, where exhibitors from across the region will present their cutting-edge facilities and offerings.

The significance of Hong Kong as a vital cruise hub in Asia is not lost on organizers. The iconic cityscape and the picturesque Victoria Harbour provide the perfect backdrop for this influential gathering. The event’s hosting by Hong Kong is warmly welcomed by the Hong Kong Tourism Board. “The choice of Hong Kong as the venue for Asia’s first and largest post-pandemic trade event for the cruise industry not only highlights Hong Kong’s significant role as Asia’s cruise hub but also further strengthens Hong Kong’s position in the global cruise industry,” remarks Mr. Kenneth Wong, General Manager, MICE & Cruise of the Hong Kong Tourism Board.

As preparations continue for Seatrade Cruise Asia Pacific, the cruise industry eagerly anticipates reconnecting, sharing insights, and collectively steering the course for Asia’s cruise market.
